Top 7 Reasons To Stay At The Hilltop Inn!
The Hilltop Inn, located in the lovely community of Fish Creek, is the perfect resort location for your stay in Door County. Here are the top seven reasons why…
1 – We are your home away from home.
No need to cram you and your traveling companions into a small and expensive hotel room. The Hilltop Inn’s condo style rooms are spacious, set on two levels and have all the amenities of home. Each vacation condo has two bedrooms with queen size beds plus a queen size sofa sleeper so there is plenty of room to spread out. 2 – The Hilltop Inn is within walking distance to many of Fish Creek’s amenities.
Located at the corner of Highway 42 and County Road F. The Peninsula School of Art, Door County Auditorium, The Top of the Hill Shops, and the Fish Creek Grill are literally steps away from the resort entrance, so you are within a minute or two of Door County’s great art venues plus some great shopping including a book store and wine shop.
Less than a quarter-mile away is the entrance to Peninsula State Park, Wisconsin’s largest state park. The park features miles of hiking and biking trails, a golf course, beautiful sand beach, Eagle Bluff Lighthouse, Northern Sky Theater, and in the winter has cross country skiing trails and a sledding hill. There are two places to rent bikes right near the entrance to the park so you can enjoy Fish Creek and the park on foot or by bike. In addition to the large sandy beach located in the park, there is a small sand beach a half-mile from the Hilltop Inn. The heart of downtown Fish Creek is 3 ½ blocks from the Inn. During the summer, free concerts are held at Clark Park, a one-acre park located right on the water downtown. It is also a great place for a picnic or just to watch the water and the beautiful boats that are docked there. The lovely historic buildings in downtown Fish Creek house many boutiques, restaurants, galleries, and restaurants. You could spend your entire week with us at the Hilltop Inn and never have to get in your car.
3 – You can work here…If you must.
You are on vacation. Vacations are supposed to be work-free right? Well, we all know that sometimes it is not possible to entirely escape work, even on vacation. The Hilltop Inn Resort features free high-speed wireless internet access so you can fire up your laptop and check your emails and catch up on a little (and we do mean little) work. The Fish Creek Library also has computers and internet access as do many of the coffee shops and restaurants in Fish Creek.
4 – You don’t have to eat out if you don’t want to.
Fish Creek and Door County, in general, have lots and lots of places to eat, and it is fun to eat out sometimes. Other times you just want to chill out and do your own thing. Maybe you don’t want to have to wait for a table at a restaurant. Maybe you have picked up lots of lovely fresh produce, wonderful cheeses, and some amazing bottles of wine from some of Door County’s stunning array of farm markets and specialty food stores and want to prepare your own amazing feast. The Hilltop Inn has fully equipped kitchens in all of our condos. We also have gas grills if you want to grill out. So, you can eat what you want, when you want.
5 – You want to watch the big game, but she doesn’t want to miss an episode of Downton Abbey.
Well, you’re in luck! Each condo at the Hilltop Inn features not one, not two, but THREE flat-screen TV’s, including a 50-inch UHD smart TV in the living room! No one will miss their favorite TV show.
6 – Being cozy is important to you.
You spent a wonderful day exploring the peninsula. The sun has set and maybe it is getting a little chilly or maybe you are visiting us in the winter, and you need to warm up after a day out playing in the snow. We have got you covered! Every single condo at the Hilltop has a beautiful gas fieldstone fireplace to cuddle up in front of.
7 – The Hilltop is in Fish Creek. Fish Creek is the heart of Door County.
Fish Creek has long been considered the best town in all of Door County. OK, they may be a little biased. Fish Creek is an amazing town with loads of things to see and do, but it is also in the middle of Door County. We know that almost everyone wants to explore other parts of the county. I have spent a lifetime here and still have not experienced everything this wonderful peninsula has to offer.
The great news is that the Hilltop Inn, being in Fish Creek, places you a maximum of about a half-hour away from almost everything Door County has to offer.
Want to visit the Maritime Museum, see some big ships, or take a really great guided fishing trip? Sturgeon Bay is 23 miles south of us.
How about a glass-bottom kayak tour to see some shipwrecks or some craft beer tasting? Just sneak out the back door and travel 8 miles, about 10 minutes, on County Road F to Baileys Harbor. On your way there you can stop at Stones Throw Winery, have a Bloody Mary and a burger at Peninsula Pub, or if you have the kids along treat them to lunch at PC Junction where a train will bring them their food!
Want to see the goats on the roof at Al Johnson’s in Sister Bay? Also, about 8 miles from us but you go through Ephraim first, so it takes about 15 to 18 minutes. Speaking of Ephraim, 4.8 miles.
How about Gill’s Rock? Gill’s Rock is 19 miles from Fish Creek so it takes about a half-hour.
Yes, staying at the Hilltop Inn is just so darn convenient!
Enjoy Yourselves in Door County!
